Listen to everybody.
But don’t try to please everybody. That’s impossible.

^This.
Not only is it urgently needed in its own right, but executing this massive effort and getting the virus under control will:
My advice:
Prioritize effectiveness over bipartisanship: Offer bipartisanship as a gift where the opportunity presents itself (especially where it might help a moderate senator or congressman who doesn’t cause too many headaches bring home some bacon to his/her constituents) but being bipartisan shouldn’t be a top priority.
In that vein, don’t be afraid to ditch the filibuster. The Senate is broken, and Mitch McConnell broke it. I am personally concerned at the increasing degree to which presidents have come to rely on executive orders, but that is a symptom of legislative obstruction. Biden must take opportunities where they exist.
Tune out the noise. Don’t get sucked into biting back at critics; just put your head down and get work done. Take some lessons from former California governor Jerry Brown, who took over California with a Dem legislature after polarizing Republican politics had devastated California. He governed from the center left, often angering some progressive Dems, but it was the right move.
Begin the process for a peaceful dissolution of the US, akin to the split up of Czechoslovakia. If red states try to secede, let them, try to get them to take their share of the national debt.
If McConnell begins obstructing everything, Biden needs to do everything in his power to go around him, run over him, whatever it takes that’s within the law. If his appointments begin getting blocked, ask Schumer to force a floor vote. Do this for all appointments, cabinet members, judges, and so on.
On McConnell, he and his wife’s corruption is kind of an open secret. He uses his position to funnel lots of federal contracts to Kentucky donors. I would investigate the shit out of him or use the threat of investigation to get him to comply with my agenda.
So you’re for Presidents overruling laws by presidential fiat.
