When I was a teenager, I gave almost all of my dolls/stuffed animals - all but my Dressy Bessy doll. See, she had a zippered pocket on her stomach, accessible after you unbuttoned her vest. I kept her on my bookcase, out in plain sight. Mom once asked my why I kept it - I responded “nostalgia”. I took a hint from my sister when it came to hiding XMas/BDay presents from TheKid - I hid everything in the dirty laundry hamper. Her boys _never_ put their clothes in the hamper, so never had a clue. I did the same thing for many years. I finally told her about it a few years ago - she was upset that I deceived her so easily (more than once I came home to my bedroom closet shuffled through a week before Xmas/Bday). ---
