I found a song that intermixes Nine Inch Nail’s “Closer” with the Spice Girls “Wannabe.” It is by far one of the most disturbing things I have ever heard. Take “Tell me what you want, what you really really want” with the chorus “I want to _blank_ you like an animal.” But the truly horrible part is the rhythm section of both songs intermingle perfectly. Why? ---

i’d have to say the most surprising discovery was when my father asked me to find the songs of his youth, songs like “one meatball” “wabash cannon ball” “i got spurs that jingle jangle jingle” and there they were all ready for me to download… ---

I’m one of those people who use Napster to discover new artists. The one I’ve discovered that actually made me go out and get three of their CDs was **Mogwai**. I’d heard of them, but never heard them until I poked around on Napster. As for the song I’m most glad I found, “The Rainbow Connection” by **Kermit the Frog**. ---

There are a couple of ones that I’ve always thought were really outsanding, purely because of their weirdness: First, to get this you have to know of ‘Patlabor’, the anime. I was looking for some theme music from it, when I download this thing called “Patlabor” by Bernard Minet, or so it claimed. The weird thing is, IT’S IN FRENCH. Sounds cool, though. I recommend it. Next, is a Chinese ‘pop’ song. I was looking for ‘Saturday Night’ by the Bay City Rollers (great song, BTW) online, and I come upon this site in all the weird ASCII characters, i.e., a foreign language (in this case, Chinese). So, I download the song, which has ‘Saturday Night’ in the title. It’s actually cool. It borrows some of the instrumental background music from ‘Ooh Ahh – Just A Little Bit’ by Gina G, but the lyrics are in Chinese, and there’s some original music thrown in…so weird, but oddly attractive. Lastly, some Russian alternative music. A song called ‘Do Ruska’ by God-knows-who. All in Russian, but, like the previous two, it sounded good so I kept it. Can’t even remember how or from where I got it, either. -SSB ---

“One Small Choice” by Vent. Y’know, the older brother of the lead singer in Vent is the lead singer of Incubus, Brandon Boyd. Vent’s guitarist is also the younger brother of Incubus’ guitarist Mike Enzeinger(I’m not sure exaclty how to spell that). Great band… great band. ---

“Our Darkness” by Anne Clarke (and two remixes!) “Break Free” by Boris Mikulic “Lover” & “My Only Love (live)” by Roxy Music and stuff by a sweet band called “Strawpeople” that no-one’s heard of outside Aus/N.Z. These are tunes I’d looked for ALL over in North America, but couldn’t find much less order. And in Eastern Euroipe, my chances are worse. ---
