Yes, everybody has dreams…Don’t tell me you dont! In fact, our whole lives are just a pursuit of these dreams. There are a lucky few who get most of their dreams accomplished - right?? -, but then we all have dreams that we know will never come true. My dream that, I am afraid, will never come true is to be the promoter of the greatest music festival in music history. The funny thing is I personally know, and have worked with, Michael Lang, the current holder of the title - Woodstock, remember? - and know that he wasn’t a millionaire when he did the first Woodstock back in 1969. He was just a man with a vision. Anyway, this will be a drams that lingers with me as far as I live, but I don’t have any serious hopes of making it come true. What do you dopers have to add to this? ---

I dream of being the starting goalie for Manchester United. Since I’m not in good enough shape for that, I think it’s safe to say it will never come true. _sigh_ ---

Most of my dreams _could_ come true with a sufficient amount of money (call that about $1500 US, possibly less, depending on where I am at the time)… they involve kinky sex. 'nuff said. Beyond that, there is nothing… I found out a long time ago that I really have nothing to say that hasn’t already been said, and nothing to add that hasn’t already been added to this reality… kinda depressing, really!☹ Best not to think about it! **Astroboy heads to the fridge for a beer** 😃 ---

The one dream I know will never come true is to be an F1 driver. Or any professional race car driver, for that matter. I’m just too old to start now, and it’s something I’ve never actually worked towards, anyway. As far as dreams that could possibly come true but probably never will, that would be finishing an Ironman triathlon. Training for one is a huge commitment of time and effort, and I don’t know if I could cut it. I wouldn’t entirely rule out the possibility though, since I’m seriously considering doing a half Ironman next year. ---

My dreams of being claimed by the royal family and being a princess are pretty much shot. They should have been by to pick me up already. A since I don’t have any rich relatives, I guess I don’t get that tropical island I wanted either. ---

My biggest dream that probably won’t ever come true is to win a HUGE lottery and be able to quit work, spend more time with my family, and live in a lap of luxury for the rest of my life! Aside from that it’s just your normal every day dreams: Buy a house Open my own restaurant Learn to water ski Take a trip to Scotland, Ireland, Australia, Hawaii, and Europe Nothing too outlandish. ---

To have a nicely equipped shop and build boats and airplanes, and have to amble off to the mailbox now and again to pick up yet another dividend check. And since BunnyGirl won’t tell us her secret dream, does anyone else think we should make up one for her? Like: [ul] [li] Dancing with the Rockettes, 2 shows a night, 3 nights a week, and teaching Advanced Corporate Law at Columbia during her off days.[/li][li] Researching the Great American Novel by circumnavigating Antarctica in a hovercraft.[/li][li] Riding a motorcycle on a cable strung across the Grand Canyon.[/li][li] Taking gold in the 2002 Olympics in the biathalon, the marathon, and Greco-Roman wrestling.[/li][/ul] ---

I’ll never be a professional race car driver. Heck, I might never be a real race car driver as a hobby. I’ll probably never get to work for a good NASCAR team, either. If I’m real lucky I’ll get a job with Dave Marcus. :rolleyes: I’ll probably never own a lovely little 2-story house with a cellar and a big open ceiling in the living room and a railing around the second-floor deck and a stone fireplace and a nice homey kitchen and a game room, nestled in the woods somewhere. I’ll probably never own a 1953 Hudson Hornet. ---

One which is possible but unlikely: a rock star… o yea. But serioulsy, a life in music. Writing, composing, performing _sigh_ One which has not an iota of possibility: a super-hero! I’m not fussed about the power… just something cool that’ll be of benefit to mankind! Cleaning a junkyard in a nanosec not inclusive thank you very much, or anything of that kind. The ability to fly! Without wings… and invulnerability. So that I may join a fray w/o fear… I’d be most inefficient otherwise. Of course, it goes without saying that I’ll be looking gorgeous… comes with the power of good… And the costume… I’m thinking… tight…yeeeessss… :: wanders away, mumbling, looking for last hallowe’en’s accesories…:: ---

I have nightmares about this. I have a deep-rooted fear, that before I die, I will never: go to Ireland learn to play the bass (for fun) get to see Jane’s Addiction again have a kid or two… finish college Damn. That list is already too long. I’m quitting before I get too depressed! ---

I’d love to dive. But I can’t because I have crappy ears and can’t get any water in them. _sigh_[/li] [li]Being tall, just for a week or so. I’d love to try being tall instead of 4’10" for a while.
