Most Liked: NFL: Detroit Lions (Like and generally follow the Packers or Patriots as a backup for when the Lions have eliminated themselves from the playoff race by mid-season) MLB: Detroit Tigers NHL: Detroit Redwings College Football and Basketball: Michigan State A very geographic list. I don’t really pay attention to the international team sports aside from dabbling in hockey during the Winter Olympics. I think the NBA is like watching paint dry so no worry about liking or disliking teams. Most disliked: NFL: None really MLB: New York Yankees NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins College Football: Three way tie between Michigan, Notre Dame, and Alabama (under the team coached by Saban rule) College Basketball: Duke and UK (under the team coached by Calipari rule) ---

Favorites: MLB: Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals NFL: New England Patriots NHL: Boston Bruins NBA: Boston Celtics (by default, I don’t actually care about basketball, but wanted to be as complete as possible) Least favorite MLB: New York Yankees NFL: Honestly? I used to seriously hate the Cowboys, but these days I don’t really find myself having any strong negative feelings toward any team. NHL: Again, not really feeling the hate. Favorite: MLB: Giants NFL: 49ers NHL: Don’t really care, but I used to live in Los Angeles and went to Kings games, so I’ll say the Kings. NBA: I hate the NBA. Most hated: MLB: Dodgers NFL: Raiders. They used to be my favorites and then they moved to Los Angeles, so they ripped my heart out. Coming back to Oakland didn’t ease the pain, and now they look to be moving back to Los Angeles again, so they can go to hell. NHL: None. NBA: All of them. College favorite: University of California Golden Bears College most disliked: USC and UCLA, equally. When they play each other, I root for whichever team can hurt the other the worst by winning. ---

Of teams I really follow, well I’m a homer: Favorites: MLB: Chicago Cubs NHL: Chicago Blackhawks (I also have a soft spot for the Wild, as well as the Sabres) NFL: Chicago Bears (although it’s been difficult the last few years–even moreso than being a Cubs fan, to be honest) NCAA: Northwestern, any of the Big Ten Teams besides Ohio State if it’s Big Ten vs non-Big Ten Non-favorites: MLB: St. Louis Cardinals, Yankees NHL: Bruins, Penguins, Canucks NCAA: Notre Dame (went to high school with too many obnoxious ND fans), OSU (I don’t really know why. I just instinctually and irrationally dislike them) NFL: Patriots (as a Bears fan, I should say Green Bay, but I don’t really hate Green Bay. I should probably turn my Bears card in.) The Vikings also annoy the shit out of me. ---

Favorites: NCAAF: Nebraska Cornhuskers, and there isn’t a second place. I guess the local Hawaii Rainbow Warriors could be #3. NCAAB: Kansas Jayhawks. Nebraska doesn’t play basketball that I’m aware of, so I’d support the top Big Eight team. MLB: Boston Red Sox. They were my first T-ball team, plus spent every summer at Grandma’s on Martha’s Vineyard. NFL: St Louis Rams and Miami Dolphins. But I am a fair-weather NFL fan. If the teams don’t deserve my support, I won’t actively root for them. Otherwise, what message am I sending? Least-favorites: NFL: Washington Redskins. More of a history thing; they were my brother’s favorite team, so there’s that rivalry. MLB: Baltimore Orioles. Again, Derek’s favorite team. NCAAF: Miami, Oklahoma, Colorado, Florida State, Texas; the teams Nebraska historically had trouble with. I don’t really feel any animosity toward Big Ten rivals. We haven’t been in that long. While Wisconsin has had our number, I blame that more on our coach (now happily departed). You can tell I grew up a military brat, with family from Nebraska. ---

I’m a total homer. I used to be a big hockey fan, and I loved the Blues and hated the Red Wings. I haven’t really followed hockey in several years though. These days, I pretty much just follow the Cardinals. I don’t really hate any other teams, not even the Cubs. Sorta pity the Cubs, but don’t really hate them. There was a year or two when I started to get annoyed by the Brewers, but they haven’t raised my hackles in a while. So, no real hate from me. Except the Yankees. Fuck those guys. ---
