I might add “The King of Hearts” (_Roi de Coeur_), mainly in French but starring English actor Alan Bates. ETA: Oops, I guess “A” means “first half of the decade.” My mistake. ---

Some great flicks back then. My votes: _Sink the Bismarck, The Guns of Navarone_ (I even had the playset, back in the day), _Lawrence of Arabia, Dr. Strangelove, Seven Days in May_ and _Fail-Safe_. I really ought to see _The Longest Day_ and _Zulu_. _Spartacus_, I have to admit, felt dated and goofy when I last saw it. ---

Again, in the had I only one vote category, I would have gone The Longest Day. But this is the one list where I doubt I could find a single movie I wouldn’t watch again. ---

I’d like to have voted for _633 Squadron_, but I haven’t been able to find a copy to watch. The few scenes I’ve found on you tube looked good. But I saw the remake with Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, and that was a pretty good film. 🙂 ---
