Update: I just realized that what I was talking about was [A Muppet Family Christmas](http://www.avclub.com/articles/a-muppet-family-christmas,66028/) from 1987.

Even though the original has been altered somewhat, it is just delightful. And Jim Henson is in it, at the end.
