Saddam Hussain is a US agent. Whenever an alien spacecraft crashes, or they want to spray some more poison, they just tell Saddam to make some more trouble so that they can divert the world’s media. ---

I like Graham Hancocks’ _Fingerprints of the Gods_\* [sub] don’t ask for an Amazon link…be glad I italicized the damn thing![/sub] He basically posits that the Earth has massive shifts in the crust every 12,500 years or so that wipe out civilization. He gives up all these amazing bits of info on the Pyramids, Angkor Wat, Underwater sites off Japan, Aztec sites, and detailed maps of Antarctica from hundreds of years ago to prove there was a Knowledge preserving group determined to make a stupefyingly complex puzzle to let us know about what was going to happen. It and his other books are fun fluff reading and are convincing if you don’t look too hard at the cites or references… ::hmmm, more books to add to the used bookstore list:: ---

I work in an alternative medicine clinic (NO, I’m not a therapist), so I’m surrounded day in, day out with pseudoscience and conspiracy theory. The favorite one going around the office is how the pharmaceutical companies and the medical associations are covering up the benefits of alternative therapies so to rake in more profits. It’s hard to fight ignorance when you have to eliminate stupidity first. Anyhoo, **my** favorite conspiracies are : the Horbigger’s (sp.?) world ice theories and of course, Velikovsky’s nomadic planets. ---

Texe Marrs. He has a newsletter that I’d subscribed to(it was free back then). He started out okay,“The government is going one-world, the antichrsit will start having christians killed.” Now, he’s got the black helicoptors, concentration camps for christians, Hillary had JFK Jr. killed cause he would’ve run for president and she wants to…catch him while he’s off his meds! ---

About a year or two ago I was riffing on the fact that gorillas are actually a failed genetic experiment. Think about it, nobody had ever really seen gorillas before the late 1800’s (or thereabouts) right? Well, the reason was because they didn’t exist. They were brought about by some sort of pre-Nazi genetic experiment, probably something to do with creating supersoldiers. Don’t ask me why they didn’t kill out the whole line when the experiment failed, that’s just the way things happened. Hey, I don’t have all the answers. And that Jane Goodall? She’s just the public face of this vast Nazi conspiracy. She’s actually a cold-hearted b\*\*\*\* in real life. I don’t know, we were driving and I was bored. I don’t remember all the details, but I still think it’s pretty funny. And of course Saddam Hussein is a U.S. Agent, or at least a symptom of our government. Haven’t you read 1984 with it’s “Minute of Hate”. We _need_ our enemies. . . ---

Here is one bouncing around MI this a.m. George Steinbrenner lured our star quarterback away because he wanted to ruin U-M’s football team. (Steinbrenner is a huge Ohio State U fan). I mean, Henson (quarterback) is a good baseball player–not doubt about that–but some nuts are saying he spent the $17 million out of a desire to screw the football team. Heh ---

I’m not sure but I actually half believe this one… The energy crisis of the early '70s was the result of a deal between Henry Kissinger and the Shah of Iran. The Shah wanted to buy weapons from the US. So he raised oil prices to pay for them. Kissinger let him do it because of the money that would be made by the weapons contractors in the US. All at the expense of energy consumer in the US. Hey, if Iran/Contra can happen… ---

I, too love conspiracy theories. Nothing livens up a party or makes the guy next to you on the plane shut up with a crack pot theory. There was a really good one in Maxim not long ago about how McDonald’s is plotting to take over the world (or something like that) but I can’t find the issue ( I think it’s either Jan or Feb 01, which are gone now from the Ujest bathroom/library/salon) Can some body out there with Maxim help me out with that one? Anyways, I did a search on Maxim’s place and found a nice little conspiracy theory write up.
