Wow, when I saw the Subject Line I immediately thought of **Marley and Me**. Not that it’s my favorite dog movie ever, but it’s the best one in recent years (since **My Dog Skip** ). I thought it was wonderful, very realistic, funny, humane, and moving.

My favorite is probably **The Plague Dogs** , though, yeah, it’s also the most depressing.

I’m a cat person but I love most dog movies. But then, I also hate sports but love most sports movies. Go figure.

**[The Doberman Gan](http://www.sff.net/people/rothman/GBF/doberman.htm)**. A group of would-be bank robbers train dobermans (and one bulldog) to rob a bank. Fun caper film with a surprise ending.

[Lucky](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0299014/) is an overlooked horror movie about a dog.
