The glass cat with emeralds for eyes in Oz. She is very proud of herself but at one point gets covered in mud as punishment! The cat General from the last segment of the Stephen King-written anthology film _Cat’s Eye_. It’s the only time I can think of that the cat gets to be the hero instead of the villain! Another I can think of is the character Jemima from the stage musical _Cats_. Dittos for Pete, from Door into Summer, Greebo and Maurice from Pratchett, and Tobermory. Adding the cat from Fritz Lieber’s “Spacetime for Springers” That story makes me cry. Also Oliver, the cat in Vivian Velde’s YA novel, A Well-Timed Enchantment. The King of Cats. ---
