The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ cover of [Roller Coaster of Love](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-lbIfaqm0U) from the movie _Beavis and Butthead Do America_.
A-fucking-men. I love pretty much everything Chili Peppers. That’s one of my favorites. Others would be “Suck My Kiss”, “Catholic School Girls Rule”, “Fight Like a Brave”.

I’d also like to add their “Show Me Your Soul” and “Around the World”.
I also like Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” and DeLite’s “Groove is in the Heart”.
I’d have to wonder about that definition of funk. I was a band nerd. We played plenty of stuff with the emphasis on one. Not much of it was funk.
I am no musician or musical scholar/theorist, but there’s a rhythmic difference between an “emphasis on the one” song _à la_ Stephen Foster’s _Camptown Races_, and a _heavy_ (and syncopated) emphasis on the one.

Does that mean one could “funkify” a song like _Camptown Races_? Hmm. Thought experiment time…

Or maybe I’m overthinking this.

You can funkify damn near anything. I have a Lyn Collin’s version of “Fly Me To The Moon” that’s incredibly funky.

This band is _AWESOME_! And I don’t even usually like funk. But I do like good music that makes you get up and dance. I have ordered two copies – one for car, one for home. Thanks for the link. 🙂

I think the Heads’ funkiest songs are Girlfriend is Better and Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On), but neither has a real music video that I know of. Although everybody should see Stop Making Sense at least once.
Superstition is untoppable as far as I’m concerned, but there are a bunch of other great picks in this thread.

I obviously do not understand what funk is, so I’ll just shoot in the dark and link Strike it Up, which is house music (which the song tells me it is, I’ll take its word for it), which may or may not be funk or related to funk. I have no idea.
