Going back to TR, I’ve read a couple of bios and seen a couple of documentaries, and I still don’t know how I feel about him. Yes he established the national parks and he busted some trusts and spoke out for the working man, but he was also a racist and a warmonger. Do I forgive him for not being progressive enough, the way I forgive Jefferson for opposing slavery while not freeing his slaves? ---

He didnt actually have any wars while president, and he helped end the Russo-Japanese War. ---

TR was certainly a warmonger but he was pretty progressive on racial issues for his era. ---
