I had a bunch of these when learning my latin binomials in herb school, but I think the only one I can remember at the moment is for horehound, aka marrubium vulgare.
You marry a bum, you get vulgare, thanks to that whore he hounded!
(No, I have no idea what STD “vulgare” is s’posed to be, but it’s evocative, isn’t it?)
