# Your favorite musical.

I’m not a big fan of Kismet, but \*The King and I \*does deserve some love.

Way too many to list, all for different reasons or particular productions.

The one I will mention because it is my hands-down favorite that I have seen in the last 5 years, although sadly I only saw the filmed version of the stage show, is _Passing Strange_. I’ve pushed this on nearly everyone I know who loves theatre of any sort and they love it too. One of the best examples of what a stage production can do that a film cannot. I’ve seen it several times (it is available on Netflix streaming) and it gets me every time.

I don’t think I can narrow it down beyond these three:  
_Kiss Me, Kate_ - what lyrics! And the dancing in the film version…  
_West Side Story_ - incredible music  
_Sunday in the Park with George_ - incredible concept and execution. And I’m a Mandy Patinkin fanboy.

Most of the rest of Sondheim’s ouevre and _Guys and Dolls_ are close behind. Oh and _Carousel_. And _Chess_. And… eh, it’s hopeless trying to narrow it down.
