Recently I’ve been trying to lay off the booze a bit at the prompting of wife, chillins and friends, and have developed a passion for Pig Iron Cola…a cane sugar cola that I get at the local World Market. I was wondering what other 'dopers enjoy as far as non-mainstream sodas goes, as I’m always looking out for something new and tasty. In particular I really love the cane sugar sodas, as they remind me of the stuff I used to get when I was a kid and that you can still get in other countries. So…what non-mainstream sodas (or other beverages) do you enjoy drinking, dopers? -XT ---

Diet Canfield’s 50/50, which I can no longer buy in 2 liter bottles and the cans are 1. too expensive and 2. don’t taste the same. ---

Diet A&W Root Beer and Cream Soda. Day-to-day, I actually drink Kroger brand Diet Root Beer, but sometimes I treat myself with the good stuff (Cola I can’t tell too much difference, but root beers, I can). Even my Kroger, wich is one of those ginormous Kroger Marketplaces with the furniture and stuff, only regularly stocks six twelve packs of Diet Root Beer, which is out about half the time I’m there. I don’t know if the other diet root beer drinkers also do their shopping just after lunch on Tuesdays, too, or I just have bad luck, but it always makes me sad. Also, I never find diet root beer when I’m out and about. Regular if I’m lucky. ---

St. Arnold’s Root Beer made with real cane sugar. It’s by the same company that makes St. Arnold’s Beer, and I think it’s only available in Texas. ---

Coco Rico. It;s a coconut soda that isn’t very sweet (it’s flavored like coconut water, not the meat of ripe coconuts). It’s made in Puerto Rico, and pretty common in NYC but I rarely see it elsewhere. ---

My grocery store has a schmancy private label they do; I love the blood orange soda plain or with a shot of vodka. I also really enjoy [Zevia](http://www.zevia.com/) in Rootbeer. Great for those looking to avoid the extra calories. ---
