That was awesome in the most utterly terrifying way imaginable.

Well, apart from the psychedelic jellyfish. They were just awesome.

The Reverend Horton Heat did a cover medley of the **Jonny Quest Theme** and Stop That Pigeon. Someone has made a video of it [here](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3glXpU_q3d8). You can probably bail at 1:50, the second half is nothing special. The Jonny Quest part fuckin’ rocks!

Good picks.
Hendrix made it hard for anyone to follow “Banner” playing a fretted instrument, but Bela Fleck covers it in an entirely new and fitting way on the eve of the '91 Gulf War.

Easy Star All Stars (the name in the YouTube video for “Time” linked below is incorrect) put out a reggae/dub cover of the classic Pink Floyd album called “Dub Side of the Moon” a couple of years ago. It’s all brilliant, but try [this](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8cPOUDqEVs&feature=related) and [this](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lz7OFW3p1C8&feature=related) and [this](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHO5z4W9MvA&feature=related) on for size.

Of course, there’s always the rock version of Boyz in the Hood by [Dynamite Hack](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVkMU1iRNYE).

Vivian Campbell of Def Leppard’s cover of “.32-20 Blues” is pretty good, as is Leppard’s covers album, “YEAH!” I especially like their version of “Rock On” because of their edginess and tension in the way the perform the song. I also quite like “Waterloo Sunset” and “Hangin’ On The Telephone.”

No, it can’t be that version of “Black Hole Sun” - it has to be the Steve and Eydie version:

Dolly Parton Singing “Stairway to Heaven”

The live version is much better than [this](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vp8-tJTUWto) studio version which is way too melodramatic. I like the energy coming out of her backup band on the live version.

Always thought Stairway needed a banjo.
