I preferred its sequel, _Joseph Andrews_–in which Pamela/Shamela’s younger brother is pursued by a lecherous lady. Also made into a film in the '70s starring Peter Firth and Ann-Margret.

But that’s not what I came in here to mention. My favorite parody is _Stiff Upper Lips_, which sends up those Merchant-Ivory-type films I adore. I quote from it often, as the situation warrants, or even if it doesn’t.

National Lampoon’s high school yearbook parody. IIRC, they had a small one in the magazine, which proved popular enough that they came out with the full-blown parody some time later.

They make a big deal about the sign that gives the house number and the hiost’s name: “22 Twain”, pronounced “Two-Two Twain” (= “Choo Choo Train”)

For Christmas time, my favorite is the parody of the 12 days of Christmas: Indian style and animated. (As always, the obligatory note here that it was made by an Indian band from Australia, so take the cliches in jest)

"On the 10th day of Christmas my true love gave to me, 10 minute yoga ([Indian guru] think the lotus, feel the lotus, drive the Lotus [drives away in a Lotus car, parodying the shameful profits those guys make])

The Key of Awesome’s [Glitter Puke](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7n8GqewJ2M), a parody of Kesha’s “TiK ToK.” I’m a big Kesha fan but I loved their imitation of her, including the Auto-tuned vomiting and the contract that said “Ke$ha must act like a drunken whore at all times.” They also did a parody of Kesha’s “We R Who We R,” but it wasn’t nearly as good.
