**DesertRoomie** and I got to talking about Stevie Wonder and she asked how long he’d been performing. I said since 1963 at age 12 with _Fingertips, pt. 2_ – forty-five years. (Turns out there were a couple the year before that, but I’ve never heard them – [Discography](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stevie_Wonder_discography#Singles). ) Anyway, she didn’t recall it so I dug up a copy on Youtube and it came back to her. Unfortunately, [_Superstition_](http://youtube.com/watch?v=_ul7X5js1vE) (Youtube warning) came up in the related videos column, I clicked on it, and now I got this earworm. It’s okay, though because it’s my favoritest S W tune – who can resist that klavinet hook?\* But that’s just my opinion. What’s _your_ favorite single Mr. Wonder has done? \*I especially love the little girl in red at 0:38 and again at 4:10 I wonder where she is today. ---

Me, I go for the classics. “Fingertips, Pt 2”, “I Was Made To Love Her”, & “Ma Cherie Amour” from the early days; “Sir Duke” and “Boogie On Reggae Woman” from the later years. ---

Hmm… close call. “Higher Ground” is right up there. “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” is second. But “Superstition” wins. And it’s WAY better than the Beck, Bogert & Appice version (which actually came first). ---

“Superstition” has already been mentioned so I’ll pick an underrated lesser-known song from his early period, [“I Don’t Know Why”](http://youtube.com/watch?v=1d48n4ESFgE). Also, I like the righteous anger of["You Haven’t Done Nothing"](http://youtube.com/watch?v=uglERcFDOXs&feature=related). It was written about Tricky Dick but it could just as well apply to the current occupant of the White House. ---

I guess it wasn’t meant to be this time. He said it was a great show. ---

That was a great freakin’ album.** [/OT] The only one of his albums I’ve bought on CD is _Innervisions_, and from that I’d pick “Don’t You Worry About a Thing.” All-time: “You Are the Sunshine of My Life.” Will, in curmudgeonly fashion, single out “I Just Called to Say I Love You” as a song I would gladly nuke from orbit as intolerably sappy and unworthy of Mr. Wonder’s considerable talents. ---

_That Girl_ Now I’m gonna have to go dig our _Original Musiquarium_ for this evening’s party and it’s all your fault! 🆒 - side note - that’s one of the neatest things about having kids, introducing them to good music. I loved watching my son catch Seal’s beat on _Crazy_ last summer; he picked up on _Brick House_ two years ago. Time to put the focus on Little Stevie. ---
