Your favourite instrumental rock/jazz/pop/hiphop tune

If a few seconds of yodeling doesn’t disqualify it from being an instrumental…
Focus, who did Hocus Pocus, had an instrumental called Sylvia. It’s probably my second favorite instrumental after Frankenstein.

I third Los Straitjackets!
I’ve always loved Geraldine Fibbers’ Heliotrope

also Claudine:

More Mancini — Baby Elephant Walk, followed closely by Pink Panther.

Jazz

Rock? Jazz?

“Telstar” by the Tornadoes has always been one of my tavorites, along with “Apache” by the Shadows.

One of the most beautiful jazz standards ever. An all-star line-up. Magical.

If I can add a (very) close second.

Not too many women on the list. Candy Dulfer was all of 20 when she released her debut album, Saxuality, with the lead song “Lily Was Here” written by Dave Stewart, whose guitar played off her sax.

This has been my favorite for a long time…

Pennants - Steve Howe

Tangible Evidence by Wishbone Ash

“Byzantine”

One more. I love instrumentals.

Paul McCartney - Momma Miss America
(I love the first half)

Loved this one for 50 years, now:

A little bit of Hot Tuna goodness.

I love this Deodato instrumental cover of “Nights in White Satin”:

What Barry White did before his voice changed.

And a little funky soul

I wonder how many people knew of this one before it was revived for the final episode of Friends?
