Heh, me too…same year, same color. “The First Car of the '70’s” (Headline of an actual Ford ad for the car ) Straight 6 in an engine compartment so large you could sit on the fender with your legs beside the engine when changing the spark plugs. 100 raging horsepower.

1975 Toyota Celica GT. It was 1980 and I had money from a lawsuit burning a hole in my pocket. It was a 5 speed and I had no idea how to drive a clutch. I had a friend who did test drive it w/me and he it was fine. The 60 mile ride home up and down mountain roads (alone -friend had to drive his car) was a real learning experience. That car was fun to drive and had great a/c. To this date, its the closest thing to a new car that I’ve ever owned.

That would have been awesomely fun, especially if you and your friends all did it at the same time.
Mine was an ivory colored '66 Impala, a hand-me-down from Grandma. It was a 327 with a Rochester Quadrajet, double humper high compression heads and a 2 speed Turbohydramatic tranny. I put wheels and tires on it and stuck a Craig 8 track in the dash so Steve Miller and I could fly like an eagle.

1965 Mustang 289 A/T. It was my mom’s handed down to me (she had blown the original engine in 1979). They bought it used in 1965 with about 1200 miles on it.
No air, no power steering, no power brakes (all drum) and an AM radio.
Had an AM/FM/Cassette installed aftermarket.
I still have it in my garage, but haven’t driven it since around 2000.
One of these days, I’m going to restore it!

A green '72 Maverick two-door, with the passenger door rusted through, was the first car of one of my sisters. I have fond memories of getting rides in that car.
