A Berlin tradition, at least at my SO’s home, was always to have potato salad and some form of sausage for NYE. The idea, I think, is to start off the new year with an appetite by eating light the evening before, but I am not quite sure how it started. Still, damned good potato salad, and we had those little smoky links along with it. Quite tasty and yes, I was really hungry this morning and we had a big breakfast. Sounds like a good start to a new year for me. ---

Stuffed pitas. Possibly also couscous with peppers, eggplant and onions, but I’m not sure if the year had changed by then. Also some goat cheese cheddar on crackers, and a bottle of cava. 🙂 ---
