Sometimes it was 2 hrs lying in wet leaves trying to doze secretly on your rifle, while your head was propped with your helmet, so the DSs wouldn’t notice (they were all actually sleeping). Sometimes it was patrol. It was always cold, and you’d just get back to sleep when they woke you up again; plus, my tentmate snored. Second night, we were three to a tent, and I was in the middle. Slept like a rock. Least favorite roommate experience. ---
