Amilyn’s death in the movie _Buffy the Vampire Slayer_. Paul Reubens’ character was a late minute substitution, and it has to be one of the most over-the-top hokey “aargh-i-die, wait I’m still dying” moment in filmdom. Least favorite part of Winter? ---

Han not shooting first. The fact the change happened isn’t the problem, it’s that it completely subverts the Hero’s journey Han takes in the movies. He’s not supposed to be a likable guy in the beginning. He’s supposed to be a narcissistic criminal who thinks of no one but himself. Everything is a business deal, and you do what it takes to survive. That’s the world he’s from. You shoot first, ask questions later. Han knew he was as good as dead as soon as Greedo sat down next to him. There is absolutely no reason for him not to kill the guy. Least favorite remake of a movie that was actually great the first time around. ---
