> [@Knowed\_Out](#): > > LF long drive you occasionally have to make I don’t have to do it anymore, but for a couple of years, I had to drive maybe twice a week from Bloomington, Indiana, to Columbus, Indiana, and back. There’s no good way to do it. You have to take a twisty state road that is one lane (one each way) the whole time, and never properly plowed in the winter. The speed limit was 55mph. I used to do it at 60-65. People still passed me illegally all the time, and I was sure I was going to witness an accident. Sometimes I came on someone who was doing it at 45. I never passed illegally-- it meant waiting for a straightaway with a dotted line, and hoping no one came in the opposite direction. I am the sort of person who gets caught doing stuff other people get away with, so I knew the first time I passed someone illegally, I’d get pulled over. I think the reason I never got pulled over for speeding was that the sheriff was always going faster than I was. I’d slow down if I saw them coming, and they’d pass me. The only time it was tolerable was shortly after the Harry Potter books started coming out. I’d get them on tape, and play them as I drove. It especially sucked that when I came back, it was usually dark. Total time was about 3.5 hrs. round trip. LF Marvel superhero. ---
