Probably one of my favorite things here is to read what’s up there where it says “Location”. \*\*Spectre of Pithecanthropus \*\* - With all your lost socks. That one made me laugh out loud, thanks. Some of us are honest and forthright - Boston, Sydney - wherever. Some of us are empty, blank and not giving that out. Some of us think we’re funny in an obscure way. I read the posts, and always my eye heads towards the location of the poster. Am I alone here? ---

I changed mine from straightforward to obscure-but-accurate. Partly because so many people don’t seem to pay attention to it, and say “Oh, so are you from England, then?” ---

Nope. I almost always look, at least when I don’t already know from having looked before. If someone’s describing a geographical problem like traffic, crime or a sports team, that certainly necessitates a peek. Same for political persuasions. I’ve tried to draw parallels or conclusions between similar mindsets and locations but so far, like so many things in my little world, I’m drawing a blank. ---

Mine used to be “Shag Harbour UFO,” partly as a reference to where I grew up, and partly because I didn’t want to change it when I moved back home for the summer. As you can see, I did change it, because I stayed in the city but also because I don’t know if anyone ever got the old one. I do check others sometimes, usually if the post makes me curious but sometimes just to see what’s there. BEHIND YOU! is probably my favorite–apologies to whoever uses it, I forget your name, though I suspect there’s a couple. I also like **Phèdre nó Delauney** ’s, Terre d’Ange, but because I’m a fan of the books. ---

I’ve been thinking of changing mine, actually. I thought I should make it more in line with where I live; rather than just boring old “Baltimore,” though, I was going to go for a (supposedly) clever “Patapsco Drainage Basin” or “The Land of Pleasant Living” and see if anyone picked up on the references. ---
