Re: the “golden amster” coats… A couple years back Burlington Coat Factory was in real hot water when it turned out some of the imported coats it was selling were trimmed with dog fur, not wolf fur as originally thought. The whole situation was so surreal to me I couldn’t quite grasp what annoyed me so much about it. I think it was a mixture of a) they didn’t have a problem with the fur when it was from a non-pet animal, and b) there are thousands of dogs (& cats) put to sleep weekly (possibly daily) right here in the US and no one bats an eye over it. I figured if some country had the foresight to skin them before tossing them in the crematorium and do something useful, well hell, more power to them! ---

When my friend comes over who is a Krisna and feels real awkward at meaty-BBQs. ---

My ex used to have fits about a Chinese restaurant here in town that he claimed used dogs in their meals. My response was: “Well isn’t that better than letting them starve to death? Or the idiots at the shelter gas them?” Yeah, he didn’t talk to me for days.😃 ---
