All-time favorite pinball would be Gottlieb’s “Royal Flush,” from about 1975 or so. Typical Gottlieb asymmetrical playfield, a weird way to earn bonus points by making poker hands, and the chance to change the point values of the drop targets during play. Given all the pinball machines I’ve played in my life, it still stands out as one of the most challenging and fun. Favorite arcade video game of the 1980s? ---

Probably the one we pulled on our band director at a Christmas concert. We started playing Sleigh Ride, and after the intro we all dropped out except for the xylophone player. He played the set of triple notes by himself in the wrong key and had this dumb look on his face like he was somewhere else. We then gave the band director his Xmas present. He took the whole thing with grace and humor. Favorite college prank ---
