Weird dreamage continues. Last night, I was trying to explain to Tom Cruise the difference between acting and real life. At some point, he started crying. But the very weirdest part was when Ziva came out of hiding and let him pet her! I really wish I knew what triggered my dreams - it’s not like I was watching a Tom Cruise movie any time recently… Rain is supposed to move in this morning and continue on and off thru tomorrow. Lucky for me, I have lots of indoor chores to keep me occupied. Yeah, right, lucky. Since SIL will take Toby early today, I may go get my hair cut - I’m feeling shaggy and I didn’t like the last cut I got - it grew out rattier than usual. My own fault, I suppose, for going to chains rather than having a regular stylist, but I can’t see spending lots for something I really don’t care much about. As long as it’s not in my eyes and doesn’t stick out weirdly, I can’t be bothered with my so-called “crowning glory.” So we’ll see what Hair Cuttery can do for me this time. Yesterday was FIL’s 92nd b-day. **FCD** called him and he said halfway thru the call, his dad forgot what they were talking about. We’re pretty sure he won’t live much longer - the Alzheimer’s is taking over. Then the question becomes - what about his almost-blind 91-y/o mother… On a happier note, we take possession of our boat next week - lots of little things need to get done before we load her up for the trip back. I need to make another list. Happy Wednesday! ---

Good HumpDay morning. Not much is happening around here. I did a lot of cooking, yesterday. Today, I’ll be making Bagel Bites, only on regular sized bagels. I like to get meals/snacks made up for my husband, so he’ll have food to take with him, when he’s OTR for two weeks. I’ll be making spaghetti and meatballs, too. That’ll about cover the ‘cooking’ for the day. I need to fire up the vacuum cleaner, too. Oh, and dry a load of laundry! I forgot about that. Crap. Oh, well. It’s on the agenda. Always something. It’s supposed to be a occasionally showery day, getting up to around 60F. Not bad. My daughter just messaged me, wanting to know if I wanted to go fishing with her, this morning. I guess I’ll go. It’s around 57F, and not raining. The rain is supposed to start again around noon. So, sure. I can put off doing this other stuff, and enjoy some relaxing fishing! I hope you all have a good day! ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out and rainin’ (hard!) with a predicted high of 76 with rain through mid - late afternoon. A good day to be inside and dry which is exactly what we shall do. I shall work on schedulin’ folks to serve Sundays in April in addition for folks to serve when the Bishop comes on April 6th, Maunday Thursday, and Good Friday. Fun times ahead! Oh well, what else I gotta do on a rainy, icky day right? Good morning everyone. It’s currently 47 degrees and partly cloudy with an expected high of 57. Rain will be moving in too. Bother of bothers, I think I’m fighting off a cold. I woke up with a stuffy nose, that weird I’ve got to sneeze feeling and my eyes keep watering. I hope I win the battle. Another super busy day yesterday and today and tomorrow promises to the be same. I spent four hours in Labor Relations training yesterday and other meetings. I have four hours of the same training tomorrow, along with three other hour-long meetings and another training session. I don’t see the day as being very productive and I’ve got a lot to get done. I think I need to talk to my boss about getting some credit hours tomorrow too, because there is just too much to get done in my regular nine hours. Today, I only have one meeting, but I’ll have a lot of due outs generated from that, as well as my normal workload, and OH, I’ve got to write up first and second quarter significant contributions. Super! The weather turned out to be very nice late yesterday afternoon, unfortunately, I did not get outside to enjoy it. I was wrung out at the end of my workday and ended up taking an hour-long nap. I was woken up several times in the overnight hours, so am still operating on a sleep deficit. I think I need to go away for a week by myself, with some sleep aids, and just spend my time sleeping, lol! I can’t catch up! Sending yays, boos, and hugs as needed. I’ve read but retained very little. ---

Afternoon, mumpers! I was so sure I posted something in an MMP on Monday but apparently I didn’t 🙂 Must be losing what few marbles I’ve got left. Anyway, is a glorious 16C/61F here, with bright sunshine. Looks beautiful out there, so of course I am stuck in an office. Nothing much to report from here, I have the go-ahead to work from home all next week as we are hibernating a bit in advance of pre-flight lateral flow tests before we head towards San Francisco on 5th April. Most people on the trains are not wearing masks now, so I want to keep risk to a minimum to make sure we can still go on our trip. I have a lot of work stuff to finish before the end of next week so I will be a very busy bee, but it’s good to have something exciting to look forward to! As it’s my last campus day today, I’ve got a mass of travel docs to print out so that we are sure we have everything we need. As for the MMP topic, texts and messages are most commonly used things on my phone, followed by intertoobz/farcebook and the calendar. Blokie and I have a shared calendar so that I can keep him up to date with the gigs I’ve bought tickets for 🙂 Which reminds me, there’s one at the end of May in Swansea that I meant to book yesterday but haven’t…must do that soon. Read lots, retained little… **flings hugs with gay abandon** ---

Babby ingested 6oz and he’s snoozing at the moment, so peace reigns. **FCD** has gone to buy some line we need for the liferings that I’m going to assemble this afternoon, as well as a couple of thumb drives because they seem to grow legs in this house. Which just reminded me of the good ol’ days when we’d buy new floppies, the have to format them before we could use them. I expect there are many “important” files mouldering away in landfills across the world… Which further reminds me of my first word processor experience - on a Wang that used 8" floppies. That would have been 40-ish years ago. Yoiks! ---

Morning all. I can see clearly now, the rain is gone…but there is still a lot of dampness, it did stick around for awhile. Re-doing my shelf that fell out and some other household activities will keep me busy until swimmin’ time and then a walk in the evening. Sudoku and Jumbles are also awaiting my attention. Only getting to 63F today, so somewhat cooler. **Taters** , sounds like way too many meetings and not enough time for productive work; and the bosses are going to wonder what is wrong with all you people…been there, cussed that. **doggio** , shirts came out of the wash ok and put several dryer sheets in with them, so they seem less objectionable. Now to put them back on the hangers… **Unknown** , I wonder if the birds know they’re driving GG (and you folks) crazy; wouldn’t put it past them… OK, onward into the morning. Afternoon all! Been reading but not retaining much the last week or so- please accept yays, boos, hugs and trouts as required. I’d like to pretend I’m reaaaally busy, but really I’m just having an apathy/laziness attack. I do have the funding confirmed for this PhD (at least unofficially- I actually only sent the official application this morning), but obviously such things require excessive quantities of paper-irk, which has taken up plenty of time and brain. It’s loverly and sunny as well, which doesn’t help, 'cos I don’t wanna be inside on the computer doing stuff- but campus is heaving with people today due to an open day-type-thing, so I don’t wanna be outside here really either… ---

The pulled pork was good. The sugar-free BBQ sauce tasted just like regular BBQ sauce. I was surprised Wifey hadn’t made the coleslaw. Even more surprised she didn’t have dinner. Her stomach has been bothering her when she goes to bed, so she just had a banana. She said this morning that she slept better last night. There’s a retirement party at the end of the month for two people who are leaving. My former boss didn’t get a send-off after 37 years with the company, because of COVID. I suggested to the organisers that she be invited. El Jefe said no. I know they didn’t get along, but sheesh! ---

I can tell you that this gluten-free thing is harder than it looks: did you know that there is gluten in beer? Yes, I’m sure it’s obvious if you think about it, but I didn’t think about it. So… clock starts again today. Akiko is fairly convinced that I will leave the house without her, so she’s very close by. Happy Hump Day! No park today, as it is daycare day. It’s a rainy 50 something outside. I see it’s supposed to get down into the 20s again this week. I hope my phone app is wrong. The dogs never made it to the dog wash Moonday, so they are getting bathed at the daycare today. One of my friends picked me up to take me for lunch. I ate too much and my stomach hurts. I really didn’t want dessert, but I got it anyway. My mother doesn’t look so good. She is still yellow, very thin and frail, and very tired. However, she is doing well emotionally and mentally. She is pretty sure she will beat it. We’ll find out more after her doctor’s appointments tomorrow. She is supposed to try to put on weight, but she says if she eats too much or eats anything sweet, she feels sick. She’s gotten conflicting advice about what she is supposed to eat. I say, eat whatever you feel like eating. I was able to get her alone and talk about the will. She told me what is in it and that she has already told Niece2 she needs to start making plans on what she is going to do. The house will be sold, period. We have no say in the matter. Even if all of us did agree to let Neice2 stay there, it doesn’t matter. Niece1 is the executor, and if she can’t or won’t follow the terms of the will, the lawyer will take over, and he’ll take a huge chunk of the estate as his fee. Niece1 is responsible and fair, so I trust she will handle everything correctly. Their dog was not a problem for us. I keep hearing about how bad their dog, Australian Shepherd, is. He has bitten quite a few people. My son and I had no problem with him. He is very high energy and nervous, but he loved having my dogs there and they played quite a bit. A little awkward at first, Cerby needs more interaction with other dogs. He seems a little unsure, but Ripple is pretty patient and good at putting other dogs at ease. Cerby and Echo got into a few tiffs, but nothing too serious. I saw the first one coming when Niece2 was going to give all of them some leftover roast beef. She thought they’d be okay because they were good when she handed out treats. I said there is a huge difference between handing out some milk bones and handing out roast beef. The second time they got into it, I couldn’t figure out why. The third time, Grandnephew3 was sitting on the floor petting Cerby, and when Echo got too close, Cerby went after her. He’s very protective of his family. I saw it coming but didn’t get there in time to stop it. Fortunately, all the tiffs were just a lot of noise and not much else, and they stopped as soon as I yelled at them. I think part of the problems with him is that they don’t read dog language well enough to head off trouble before it happens, and they picked the wrong breed. They thought with four active boys in the house a high energy dog would be a good thing, except the four active boys are active playing sports, not so active with the dog. I felt sorry for Cerby when we left, he started crying. I think he didn’t want us to leave. I have a lot to do, but now just want a nap to sleep off lunch. ---

I know everyone has been _very_ concerned/curious, so here’s an update: the new keyboard+mouse combo is acceptable. 😃 The switch for the mouse is under my thumb, so even though I have to switch two devices separately it doesn’t feel like more work because I still only have to lift my hand to press one button – it’s just on the keyboard vs the A/B switch. Switching via Bluetooth is much quieter than each computer making the “disconnecting a USB device/connecting a USB device” sound, and so far all switches have been immediate and seamless. ( 🤞 ) Yesterday afternoon I took the batteries out of the old mouse and keyboard, and this morning I disconnected the A/B switch and put it in my “drawer o’ IT stuff.” Now I have _two_ extra keyboard+mouse combos. Work is being pretty quiet/manageable, but the day is still _c-r-a-w-l-i-n-g_. I can’t believe it’s not even 1:30 yet. I was up early(for me) this morning, to be at the UPS store when it opened at 8:00 AM. I had a package to deliver that needed to go out ASAP, and besides I wanted it out of my place ASAP as well. Cubicle box with a snaky blue logo on the sign, you have probably seen the ads on TV. Now I just have to wait for the results. It’s chilly and windy outside but at least the rain has stopped. Getting Mauser to tend to business yesterday was difficult. **Sahirrnee** , your mom sounds like mine did. She started losing weight and needed to gain more, but never seemed to be hungry. Shoot, if someone told me I had to eat more as medical advice I’d jump for joy. What your yourself said about eating sounds good. **Johnny** , El Jefe sounds like a total jerk. ---

She is pretty sure she will beat it. We’ll find out more after her doctor’s appointments tomorrow. She is supposed to try to put on weight, but she says if she eats too much or eats anything sweet, she feels sick. She’s gotten conflicting advice about what she is supposed to eat. I say, eat whatever you feel like eating. My mom has had this issue since radiation - her nutritionist told her to eat whatever she wants. Some suggestions included things like, mix an Ensure with ice cream to make a milkshake (this sounds like it wouldn’t work for your mom, since they’re sweet, but it’s a good way to add 300 calories). Also, hide high-calorie, high-fat foods in as much as you can, trying to mix in nutrition where you can - mom’s a fan of creamed spinach, avocado in chili and the like which is good. When she just doesn’t feel like actual food, she sips on a meal supplement. It’s surprising how hard it is to gain weight when you need to, but it sounds like your mom’s a fighter. You both have an amazing attitude, and that’s half the battle. ---
