I’m going to have to answer this lightly. He kept a column attacking Jews. The bulk of the contents probably didn’t even come from him. He had a prejudice which I said earlier was inconsistent with the way he actually dealt with Jews. That he kept that column alive for three months, you can blame his money for that. He wasn’t a pleasant man to start with. How much worse was his anti-Jew sentiment compared with summarily dismissing an entire accounting department? I’d rather be derided in general and impersonal terms on the news than to lose my job after years of service for no apparent reason.
