# Your Name is NOT Vincent (Overseas Call Center)

As noted earlier, a surprising number of Indians- virtually half of all soccer players included, for some reason- have English, or at least Western, names. Vincent wouldn’t be one of them, I’d bet, but there are plenty of Christians in India. Particularly around the major commercial centers where these call centers are being built.

Apart from accents, there is also the added bonus confusion which comes from Indians speaking British, rather than American, English.

That said, most Bombayites speak with less of an accent (relative to recieved English) than you or I.

An update: So today I called again and spoke to “Tina.” Just for the hell of it, I asked her where she was located and if she was in the United States. She told me that “for security reasons” she could not reveal that information.
