If someone tries to convince a person to have children, when that person has expressed that they do not like/have no interest in children/believe they would be bad at it, I think the convincey person has no ethics at all, and no respect for children. ---

If someone says, “I don’t have time for a dog and I never liked dogs anyway,” people would be falling over themselves telling that person not to ever get a dog, because a dog deserves a loving caring home. Make it a human baby and suddenly it’s all “risk it! You’ll only maybe ruin another human life!” W. T. F. ---

Once I heard, not a week apart, two stories: This asshole cop after working an extra long shift went home at night exhausted and fell asleep forgetting his dog in his car. He is a cruel, evil bastard that should be fired, deserves no mercy, and probably should be publically hanged. This poor, sweet, young mother forgot her baby in the car on the way to work and it tragically died. We’re so sorry for her loss. Accidents just happen, things slip our minds, you know? It’s a real shame this was the thing that slipped her mind that day. She’s in our thoughts and prayers. So forgetting your dog in your car after being overworked and exhausted = cruel monster who has no business being responsible for anything. Forgetting your baby in the car because… uh… you just happened to forget = unfortunate not at all negligent person deserving of the utmost sympathy. Really, guys? I mean, look, I don’t think the cop should necessarily be let off as easily as the babykiller, and I don’t think the woman who lost the baby needs to be publically flogged, but forgetting your **dog** because you’re stressed and tired is in a whole different world compared to **killing a baby** because you’re a ditz. ---

I get told all the time “You _need_ a puppy!” I like dogs, and I will eventually get one, but I don’t want one right now, and I never want a puppy. Housebreaking is not for me. ---

It looks super tacky to put all your cleaning products, shampoo bottles, even toilet brush, in your bathroom window for all to see. Put them under the sink or in the shower! Extremely good-looking men are probably douchebags. I know this is wrong-headed, but it’s my overly judgmental opinion. Complicating this is the fact that I really like to look at extremely good-looking men. ---

People who complain they don’t have enough money to buy food while smoking a cigarette make me want to puke. Those who buy cigarettes when their children are going hungry should be executed. ETA: Teela remined me - People who decorate their homes with empty alcohol bottles need to get a life, do some volunteer work, find something. anything. to be proud of other than what flavor of ethanol they consumed last month. ---

Oh, that reminds me. I think all people opposed to gay rights, even the people who say they are for civil unions, “just not full marriage,” are homophobic bigots and will probably feel embarrassed about their current beliefs 20 years from now. ---

People can’t come up with better insults than “douchebag” or “asshole”, despite speaking a language with more words than any other, in a time with free access to more information than any ten generations before them ever had, are profoundly uncreative and have no real right to complain about the actions of others that degenerate the language. ---

I always kind of assumed I didn’t give a damn about dogs, and that I really like cats. Then we got a puppy and you know what? I f-ing HATE dogs. Not just mine, because now I’m remembering every other dog I have had to deal with since I was a kid–hate 'em _all_. That said, our puppy was essentially potty trained in 24 hours, with only like 3 ‘mistakes’ in the first month. Now, a cat will still shit on your head to make a point–which is annoying, but I respect their gall. Dogs are just simpering attention whores. Apart from that, all my other opinions are perfectly reasonable.
