1. People living off food stamps and unemployment checks should not be spending $40 a week for a carton of no-name cigarettes at the smoke shop on the rez. Yes, you are just ‘scraping by’, but I’m tired of hearing about it while you chain smoke all evening long. 2. The same people, female, find the money to have long, gaudy fake nails glued on every month, and probably having plenty of time being unemployed, spend hours every week painting said nails and gluing on little decals. Maybe they like looking at their purple claws while holding a cigarette. 3. If I friend you on Facebook, and all I get from you are prayers, patriotic poems, heartfelt declarations of how very much you love your \_\_\_\_\_\_ (and implore me to ‘share if you agree’), inspirational ramblings about how very much God/Jesus just loves us to bits, and other assorted GLURGE, I will have to un-friend you because you are a moron with nothing personal or interesting or funny to share. (And seriously, if you send me one more weepy greeting-card thing about how much you miss your deceased\_\_\_\_\_\_as you look up at the stars…I think you should seek counselling.) ---

I have a bunch of idiosyncratic completely arbitrary rules for the use of numbers in writing (i.e. when to use 5 vs five). If you don’t follow them you’re either lazy, a bad writer, or just a plain moron. Surprisingly most people pass. ---

People who say how bad they feel for homeless animals and that they _would_ volunteer at the animal shelter, but it would just make them _too sad_ to see the animals like that, are lazy and selfish. I mean, if you don’t have the time or it’s just not your thing, I’m get that. But if your only reason for not volunteering is that it would make you sad, then you don’t really care as much as you say you do. ---

People who modify their vehicle with sparkly shit in a way that actually reduces usefulness, are total effing dumbasses. - Huge rims with tiny rubber-band tires? Dumbass. - Lowered suspensions? Dumbass. - Lifted suspensions? Dumbass. - Chrom-ey, shiny bars in front of the grill (for no reason)? Dumbass - Ridiculous offroadey 4X4 equipment on suburb-only truck? Dumbass. I need a better word (than dumbass) for the truck fashionistas around here who tool around in Crewcab F-350 Diesel duallies and _have absolutely nothing to tow or carry in it_. For some reason the poser-ness of this really annoys me. ---

For some reason the poser-ness of this really annoys me. Agree with the off-road features on a city truck, but before you tell someone how dumb altered suspensions are in real life and get trapped a real life lecture in auto mods that you aren’t interested in, here’s one you can ignore if you want to. Low-profile tiles have much less flex in the sidewalls which makes the car much more stable in curves, corners, and other tight maneuvers. Frequently low-profile tires and rims are wider than stock, too, so more rubber in contact with the road = more stability and maneuverability. Lowered suspension? See above. Less flex, better control. These features make the car safer when hitting curves at higher speeds. (Picture a mini-van racing Toyota MR2 in a curvy neighborhood) Kind of redundant on straight roads and a total inconvenience on speed bumps and degraded, uneven pavement, though. Lifted? More clearance when off-road, where accessibility trumps safety at high speeds. And Chrome is very tough and easier to clean than matte finish or powder-coated steel accessories, though I suspect a lot of chrome brush guard guys just wanted to match their belt buckles. ---

Parents who engage 6-year old kids in prolonged reasoning are deluded. I saw this yesterday. A young child was being a bit rambunctious on the sidewalk and his mother cautioned him to be “careful of others’ space, Jimmy.” She went on: “You have to respect others’ bodies and their personal space, Jimmy.” :rolleyes: It did, however, provide me with prolonged laughter at her expense.
