All I know is whenever I hear someone have a sneeze attack (like the person down the hall who is in the middle of one as I type!), instead of feeling sympathy for a fellow allergy sufferer, all I want to do is yell at them to knock that shit off.

Hey! Me too! I don’t know why people sneezing irritates me, either, but it does. Especially people who sneeze really loudly - I want to hit them.

I also re-tie both shoes, usually - the newly tied one _does_ feel tighter!

I don’t actually like cake and ice cream together. Maybe that’s an idiosyncrasy. I also don’t like ice cream cakes - yuck.

> When I’m getting ready to watch a movie on a DVD, I have to put the closed-captioning on even though I am not hearing-impaired in any way, because I might miss a word (mumbly actors, foreign accents or references, etc.) somehow. And I get really annoyed when the captioning people get the words wrong: I was watching a Catherine Cookson movie over break and they kept using “summit” when the characters were clearly saying “summat” like in all the _All Creatures Great and Small_ books.

My husband and I use captioning/subtitles too, and both of us have normal hearing. Reasons similar to yours.

I also share the aversion to combining ice cream with pastry. The texture of soggy pastry is squicky.

I always walk on the balls of my feet. I also often stand that way, sometimes just on one foot. I make a game to see how long I can go without letting either of my heels touch the ground. For some reason, I especially can’t stand letting my heels touch the ground when I’m barefoot or in socks.

That could be partly physiological. I walk toe-ward because the long tendon in the back of my legs is a little shorter than most people’s. When I was younger, I made a deliberate effort to stretch it to the point that I could squat flat-footed, but when I stopped the stretching exercises, it shortened up again.

I walk like that until I remember to stop. Used to get mocked for “walking like a ballerina”. Another habit I want to break but can’t seem to.

Could be. I definitely can’t squat very low while staying flat-footed. But I don’t feel any pain or anything while walking on my heels; it just feels unnatural and “crude” (I notice that some people put tremendous force through their heels; they send vibrations through the entire floor on each step). And from what I’ve read, using the balls of the foot makes for better form and lower impact, especially while running.

I’ve never been mocked for it. Actually, I’ve been complimented on it a few times–“wow, you really walk smoothly”.

Being told that by someone would truly rustle my jimmies.

My ex pointed out to me that I scratch my right eyebrow with the little finger of my right hand. And for no particular reason that she could see.

She also said that few people speak in complete sentences, but I speak in complete paragraphs. I think she meant that as a compliment, but I’m not sure.

Also I put my left sock on first, followed by my right sock, then my right shoe and finally my left shoe. I am sure that if I change this I will walk funny all day.
