My first go around at making my own chili after leaving home resulted my learning the difference between a _clove_ of garlic, of which the chili I was making required 7, and a _bulb_ of garlic, of which I dutifully placed 7 into said recipe.
Best chili I ever made, although the SO’s of the guys I had over for poker and movie night would disagree for the two days it took to get the reek out of our system.

> I used parchment the last time around, and it worked better than other methods. Perhaps that’s the way to go; beats throwing the whole mess at the garbage bin.

fold it in half, call it calzone, call it a day! 😃

We discovered last night why people make mashed potatoes rather than pureed potatoes.

After pureeing up the baby’s dinner with the stick blender my wife decided she’d do the same to the potatoes. The resulting paste was nigh-on inedible.

> That reminds me of a long-ago attempt at creamed spinach. I had some cooked spinach and a can of cream of mushroom soup (which I no longer consider a foodstuff, but I digress). I liked both of those things and figured if I blended them together they would still be good, but no. The substance I created both looked and tasted as if it had come out of Shrek’s ass.

What has Campbell’s done to their cream soups? They’ve changed, and not for the better.
