If you place an ice cube directly on the gum for a minute or so it will become hard and brittle for a few seconds after you remove the cube, and you can break or chip it off where it is stuck during that time.

Oh, I hope Stinkpalm is here somewhere. I’m wearing very sexy size 6 caramel colored, faux alligator, peek-a-boo toe, ankle straps with a narrow (but not stilleto) 4" heel. I got them from Victoria’s Secret. They give the illusion of perfectly adorable feet (which I don’t have). Women have stopped elevators to tell me they love these shoes. Complete strangers tell me they want to buy them off my feet. I should have bought three pair.

I got a pair when I was in Appledorn (sp?).
My friends told me that a lot of people still use them for gardening after sealing them.

it’s true, they are pretty comfy out in the yard.

now if only I could get my husband to stop laughing at me…

on the opposite end of the **scablet** spectrum, I’ve got on white size 6 wide keds, the leather kind not the canvas. Nubby white scrunchy socks. And this high-fashion ensemble allows me to stand at a whopping 5’3"!!

Apeldoorn, but that’s OK. Wow, not exactly as rock and roll as Amsterdam. I take it you know some people there? 🙂

I wouldn’t say “a lot of people” still use them. They’re mostly a tourist gadget these days, but most farmers and some avid gardners still wear them.

I’m wearing a pair of pluggers. Sometimes called thongs (which is quite different to a g-string thankyouverymuch), my pluggers are black and white and made of cheap rubber.

I bought them last week for the grand sum of $2.40 from the local supermarket.

They hurt my feet and leave black rubber marks between my toes and a funny flip-flopping sound when I walk in them. On the beach, pluggers flick hot sand up my shorts and all over the people walking behind me. They’re also dangerous to drive while wearing, in case the rubber gets caught on the car floor while moving your foot to the brake pedal.

I have a very comfortable $70 pair of Colorado leather sandals by the front door, but I’m sticking to pluggers this summer.

Why?

‘Cos they’re so frikkin’ cool. Thongs scream, “I spent 2 bucks on my footwear, and I’m darn proud of it!” Thongs are the footwear of the yobbo, the derro and the bogan, so there is a gleeful irony in young white collar workers wearing the least-fashionable, cheapest footwear available.

Plus, they’re _sooo_ Aussie, which is always cool.

😉
