I never thought it was strange, but a friend of mine was surprised and amused when she found a CD of mine labeled “Really Long Songs.” ---

Heh-heh-heh-heh… Let’s see… -Armageddon [songs about/appropriate for the end of the world] -Cyberpunk -Cruising (Car) -Cruising (In helicopter gunship) -“Double Os” [Songs stylistically appropriate for, but mostly not actually from, Bond films] -Flight -Flight/Combat [I do a bit of flight sim work] -Gibbering Insanity [Crazy, and/or stressed out music] -Giant Monsters (Lotsa Godzilla and assorted giant monster movie music) -Mad Science -Naval [Songs for naval vessels, sailing, etc] -Odd Musicals -Psychological Warfare mix [in case I ever need to lay siege to a compound] -Revolution [songs for revolts, revolutions, uprisings, etc] -Steampunk -Tank music [for slogging along in a tank, should the occasion ever arise] ---

I’ve made some smart playlists in iTunes just to see what happens. I have one called I/Me/Mine, which is songs with one of those words in the title. I also have one called Songs with Guns, where the lyrics include guns whether they’re the topic or incidental. ---

I have a “Good Eats” playlist. Current songs include: “Fatback and Corn Licker” - Louis Jordan “RC Cola And A Moon Pie” - NRBQ “Howard Johnson’s Got His Ho-Jo Working” - NRBQ “One Meat Ball” - Ry Cooder “Banana Pudding” - Southern Culture On The Skids “Eat Steak” - Reverend Horton Heat “Red Beans And Rice” - Booker T and the MGs “My Sweet Potato” - Booker T and the MGs Oo, just added “Junk Food Heaven” (The Forty-Fives) and “Junk Food Junkie” (Larry Groce). Other tasty suggestions welcomed. ---

I have two playlists stored on my phone. One is called “excellent-quality songs” and has about 200 songs for my workouts. It has a bit of Michael Jackson, Dr. Dre, Pointer Sisters, and Madonna. It also includes all the songs in my other playlist, which contains about 110 songs. This other playlist is called “highest-possible-quality songs”: All 110 of the songs are Kesha songs. ---

I like to organize songs by themes. Maybe not normal themes.
