I haven’t seen a lot of the movies mentioned so far, and for the LOTR and Harry Potter movies in particular I feel that too much of my enjoyment of them was in seeing something I was already well familiar and in love with painted on the big screen to compare them with movies that I truly saw fresh and new. Those aside then, off the top of my head my ten favorite movies in no particular order released from 2000-2009 would be something like: Catch Me If You Can Cast Away Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Moulin Rouge! Spirited Away Finding Nemo House of Flying Daggers (which I liked rather better than Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) Oldboy A Beautiful Mind Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (like The Matrix trilogy, the first one was awesome, the follow-ups bloated) These movies I can and would rewatch again and again and enjoy them each time. ETA: crap, I forogt “Goodbye, Lenin!” in this list, as well as “Lola Rennt”, which would bump something or other on here… oh well. ---
