Just remembered “I Got You Babe” from Groundhog Day.
It took me forever to realize that this song was the Universe taunting Phil.

For some reason, the music scene I most remember from High Fidelity is the Dry the Rain scene. Probably because it reminds me of a pretty-much bygone era where hearing a song at a record store was a not uncommon way of discovering a new artist.
“Crazy on You” in The Virgin Suicides.
Don’t forget Karen playing, “You Cant Always Get What You Want”, at the funeral, or the boy singing, “Joy to the World”, in the bathtub. Do those count?
“Born to be Wild” - Easy Rider
“Immigrant Song” - Thor: Ragnarok
“A Blossom Fell” (sung by Nat “King” Cole ) in Badlands or “Tra La La Song” (a.k.a. The Banana Splits theme) in Kick-Ass
Duplicate, yet I only hit submit once.
“Don’t Be Shy” in Harold and Maude.
“Crazy on You” in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.
Isn’t there another early Cat Stevens… yeah, “If You Want To Be Free, Be Free…”
Ace Rothstein watching Ginger walk across the casino floor with “Love is Strange” playing is the top needle-drop moment for me, from Casino. Her swagger, his stare, that music. Perfection.
“You Never Can Tell” from Pulp Fiction. I can’t hear this song without thinking about Travolta and Thurman dancing.
One stands out above all others, if I understand the point correctly –
“Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time)” by The Delfonics , in “Jackie Brown”
The Pixies’ “Where is my mind”, at the very end of Fight Club.
Every time I hear Free Bird, I think of this scene…
The ending from The Devil's Rejects.“The End,” Apocalypse Now
“You Never Can Tell,” Pulp Fiction
“Tequila,” Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure
I don’t get this distinction. Maybe The Emperor was into Holst’s The Planets.
An all-Coen list.
Does Alice’s Restaurant in - uh - Alice’s Restaurant count?
j
“I Got A Name”, in Django Unchained.
I second that.
