I agree on both counts (but Raymond Carver can’t do anything wrong in my book). The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat was so beautiful it made me cry.
Well I just ordered Blood Maridian from Barnes and Noble. What you said about it, as well as people on B&N, made me want to give it a try. Ill let you know.
Thanks
When I was in highschool one of my English classes had to read a book called Dreamspeaker by Cam Hubert. I figured it would be one of those “if the teacher makes us read it, it must be awful” books, but it turned out to be one of the best books I’d ever read. Especially the last chapter - wow. Blows your mind. When you finish the book you can’t really do anything except close it and stare at the floor for awhile.
You know, for a book that I love so much you would figure that I would have spelled the title correctly in my original post. The title of the book is Blood Meridian . Sorry for the typo.
Anyway, I hope you like the book. I think that Amazon lets you read the first couple of pages to get a feel for the book.
Haha, I was afraid of that…When I was quoting your post I acidentaly deleted the title while attempting a spelling safe cut and paste. Dont sell yourself short, I am the one who spelled it wrong. I was too lazy to fix it the right way…sorry. Still funny though.
