The worst part of it is the alarming reluctance on the part of the courts in doing anything about it. I was doing a hearing just a few weeks back where the cop did nothing short of admit on the stand that he was harassing my client. Cross examination revealed this cop to have a total hard-on for my client, for whatever reason. Nonethless, the judge made a point of reading a three page long decision on the record, not only denying my motion to suppress, but kissing the cop’s ass in the process. So not only were my client’s constitutional rights stomped on, he had to sit through a judicial tounge bath of the cop, then watch that same cop smirk at us as he left the courtroom. And people wonder why cops continue to act the way they do. ---
