# You're a grown man!  Buy your own office supplies!

Saw Office Space?!? I was LIVING it! We actually went out and bought the video after seeing it - it really struck a lot of nerves with us. “Gonna…burn the place down…mumble mumble…”

People don’t bother me for office supplies any more - here where I work, they’re kept liberally supplied. However, there’s always the fix suggested by the founder of Levenger: when you loan someone your pen, keep its cap in your hand. People are much less likely to wander off with a pen that doesn’t have its cap.

The gas station down the street from me came up with an elegant solution: they taped a plastic fork to the cash register pen. It’s not heavy enough that you have trouble writing, but it is ugly and ungainly enough that you don’t acidently stick it in your pocket. It’s been there for six months or so now. However, it’s possible that in a professtional atmosphere this might come across as overly anal. But I am going to try it in my classroom, whenever I get one. 9Except I’d use a spoon)
