Y’know what racism is? (I can only speak for Australia, not Canada). Racism is a bus not even stopping when a black person is waiting. Racism is a black woman being imprisoned for 3 months for theft of a can of lemonade. Racism is when the local white people pray for a river to flood, so that the local indigenous folk living in the riverbed get inundated. Racism is when the average life expectancy for black folk is 10-15 years less than whites. And that’s just Aborigines…don’t get me started on other folks like refugees and the treatment they get from ordinary people here in Australia. What is NOT racism is a bus-driver telling you that she didn’t know where the bus stops. Did it ever occur to you that it might have been her first day on that route?? ---
