I live in San Antonio. A lot of culture, riverwalk and hill country.
However, I voted NYC. Boston would be my second choice followed by DC as those cities are what screams America to me.
Put aside a month… start a couple of days in New York, come into Laguardia and take a cab, hit broadway and manhattan for a couple of days, head out in your Caravan/Mobile Home-Buffalo, Erie, Cleveland, Sandusky, Put-in Bay, kelley’s, Toledo, Detroit, Windsor, London, Toronto, Niagara Falls.
