You could be making trouble for the Starlighters, and they’re there against Mr. Strickland’s wishes in the first place.

Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan

It might take a little bit, but the kids may get into it. I can almost guarantee that the authority figures never will.

Blitzkrieg Bop - The Ramones

It’s catchy and should be much easier for them to listen to after “Like A Rolling Stone”. Again, the staff won’t like it, but it shouldn’t scare the kids too badly.

If We Don’t Make It, We’ll Fake It - Death From Above 1979

Now **this** will scare them. 😃

Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
Money - Pink Floyd
Dream On - Aerosmith

These aren’t my favorite songs byba longshot, but I think they would each translate their own musical ideas without getting me kicked out.

My brain is stuck in Chuck Berry. I’d give the entire auditorium a heart attack with “My Ding-a-Ling.”

Another I thought of is _Don’t Fear The Reaper_ by Blue Oyster Cult. Again, not so extreme as to send them running from the auditorium but challenging to the fifties mindset.

It’s a fun little fantasy, here goes:

Start with Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams (easy to listen to, should seduce much of the audience into accepting anything that follows)

Rage against the Machine - Killing in the name (I can think of ones I like more for this theme but this one has a good dance tempo and why not incept mosh pits earlier sooner than later?

Hedwig and the angry inch - Angry Inch (because screw the chaperons and anyone else living in the 50’s lol)

Maybe I should sing Country and Joe and Fish’s “What are we fighting for” (is that the correct title?)
(So when the Viet Nam war really starts to take off maybe, just maybe they’ll remember the song.)
Then “Baby Got Back”.
Then I’d Rick Roll the bastards so I can claim credit for doing that first.

I was thinking along the same lines, except instead of Peaches (who I’m not familiar with) I would go with Beastie Boys “Sabotage”.

You can’t go wrong with Beatles, Springsteen, The Who, Zeppelin, etc., but how about really screwing with their minds and doing some Gangsta Rap? I don’t know much about that genre, but definitely something with Bitch and Ho in it, and maybe something about killing cops.

Then end it with Dylan: _The Times They Are A-Changin_’.

That plus Led Zepplin’s version of “Travelling Riveside Blues” and “the Sweater Song” by Weezer.

Blow their tiny little minds!

Jackson Browne - Running on Empty

Eagles - either Hotel California or Peaceful Easy Feeling

And I’d close the show by dimming the lights, going acoustic, bringing Jenny up on stage and singing John Denver’s Lady to her as everyone else slow dances and plays grabass in the dark. 😃

And for my encore: I’m Too Sexy by Right Said Fred.
