I am a little proud of my somewhat better than average ability to peel citrus fruit while keeping the peel in one piece. Sadly, there is no annual contest to recognize my achievement. ---

[/QUOTE] If the schedule follows last year, the winner will be informed the last week of July, and the press releases will go out a few days later. I was told I was a finalist on a Thusrsday and asked for a brief bio. I was told I was the winner two days later on Saturday, and asked not to speak to the press because they wanted to give AP an exclusive. The AP story came out the next Monday. And yes, I believe Iā€™ve managed to be even worse since. But there may be an unwritten contest rule that they donā€™t allow a two-time winner twice, because it hasnā€™t happened in 25 years. Anyway, thatā€™s my story if I lose ā€“ not that I wasnā€™t bad enough, but that I was essentially blackballed. ---

My entry was called, ā€œThe Old Man and his Peeā€. Damn, I was pissed. šŸ˜› ---

To the OPā€¦I keep the TV on a lot. 'Cause I like background noise. But I canā€™t imagine it being something to be proud of. I tend to speak proudly (much to the chagrin of my friends and family) of my utter sexual perversity. I think Iā€™m getting on there last nerveā€¦although I have a number of friends (not family, Iā€™m not _that_ weird) who love to hear about my depravity. To speak of others, Iā€™ve gotten fron some people pride in the fact they never read. Nothing to be proud of you git! ---

Colorado has a long list of ways one can ā€œpersonalizeā€ oneā€™s vehicle license plates. I find it strange that so many of my fellow Centennial Staters are so damned proud of being honorably discharged veterans. I mean, I was in the Army for three years, and all I had to do to get an honorable discharge was not fuck up so badly that the Army kicked me out. Seriously, is this something to be proud of? It is literally the same as bragging, ā€œI never screwed up badly enough to go to jail.ā€ I could understand being a service retiree, or a combat veteran. But just to get an honorable discharge? Not that much of an accomplishment! ---
