# YouTube does maintanance too often

## This is too tepid and short for the Pit. I though about Cafe society, since it’s about new media, but I have a feeling it would get moved here.

Why in the world can’t YouTube stop doing so much maintenance and making comments not work? It’s really frustrating to take the time to type up something, the extra time to make it fit within the 500 character limit, and then not be able to post it. It’s worse than the SDMB used to be, as at least you only had to wait maybe 5 minutes at most. Gah.

Have you noticed? Or are there other sites that have this problem?

I’ve never noticed that YouTube does maintenance at all; perhaps that’s because I don’t comment. You’re not putting yourself in illustrious company there, dude.

The quality of the comments depend a lot on the types of videos you watch. I’m generally watching reviews by relatively smart people, and generally only deal with the more intelligent commenters.

Anyways, with my longer posts, I’m not too worried about being mistaken for the trolls that comment there.

Maybe it’s the hours I keep. Maintenance seems to happen early in the morning.
