I think I’m a fairly mild mannered poster-more of a lurker really when you consider my post count- a reasonable woman, who strives to at least consider the opposing point of view. And normally, I’m slow to anger and even slower to post about it. Hell’s bells, I’m hard pressed to come up with the names of 3 Dopers that have consistently annoyed me over the years. However, I‘ve had the misfortune of encountering \*\* Zabali\_Clawbane\*\* in a number of threads recently and her contributions are making my brain leak. It’s not so much the fact that it seems that she can top any experience on the Boards. You’ve been raped? So has our dear **Zabali\_Clawbane**. She’s also been stalked by both man and beast. Have an animal cruelty story-she can do you one better, I promise. Has some sorry loser wiggled his wanker in your direction? More men have exposed themselves to **Zabali** in her lifetime than your average porn star. Dealing with autism? Surprise, surprise! Zabali’s youngest child is autistic as well. I’m sure that I’ve missed something but being stuck on dial-up severely curtails my ability to search out her all threads. For all I know, she’s been probed by aliens, walked on water and raised the dead. Of course, her experiences have made **Zabali** a practical expert on all of the aforementioned subjects. God forbid you should disagree or that _your_ experiences have led you to reach a different conclusion. There’s one correct viewpoint and that’s our **Zabali’s**. I can even deal with the fact that when called on some of her stories, \*\* Zabali\*\* has the disconcerting habit of disappearing rather than answering her challengers and then conveniently popping up once the thread has faded. A quick escape artist of the first order,if you will. No, what’s really starting to make me crazy is the fact that Zabali is now the self-appointed arbitrator of all that’s rude and insensitive on the Board and eager to chastise other Dopers for what she considers inappropriate behavior. Sort of a junior mod Emily Post, all wrapped in to one . In **Aslan of Narnia’s** thread about austism, **Astro** raises a rather valid question about whether **Aslan** has been diagnosed by a medical professional. I could care about the fact that you’re probably more full of shit than a Christmas goose. And really, no skin off my nose if you want to continue to be Miss Oneuponeyou 2004. I’m not sure if you know the history of those two but Zabali was obviously calling him out in that thread for personal reasons. She pitted astro awhile back and after everybody realized how full of shit she was she just dissapeared from the thread instead of apologizing to him like she should have. ---

I also thought Zabali\_Clawbane’s comment in that thread was a bit snide and completely out of place, given that one of the primary missions of the SDMB is to promote healthy skepticism. ---

I have no bone to pick with **Zabali**. But after reading this particular thread with the comments that **astro** made and the response by **Zabali** , I cannot see that **astro** was in any way rude nor did he infer that the OP was a liar. His questions seemed appropriate and his comments were noted as _opinions_. In my opinion, **Zabali’s** response to him was ill-conceived. Heh, she’s a peach isn’t she? I have no idea why in the Australian child abuse thread she felt the need to explain the Chamberlain case to me and that jayjay was referring to that. When I read Aslan’s thread earlier this afternoon, I wanted to post that astro wasn’t being rude in the least bit but I was **a)** short on time as I was swamped and **b)** having a hard time coming up with something that wasn’t too snarky for a non-Pit thread. astro didn’t do anything wrong in that thread. He didn’t do anything wrong in the thread that spawned the thread in which she Pitted him a few weeks ago, either. ---

In her **astro** pitting, I expressed that I felt she had not been raped based on her initial description of the event. Her response was to lose all respect for me because I could not bring myself to define consensual sex as rape just because the sex had been consented to grudgingly. I also thought her response to **astro** was out of line, and was motivated by personal rancor. I want to say that **Zabali** seems to have trouble distinguishing fantasy from reality, but I don’t think that would be strictly accurate. I think she has trouble distinguishing her emotional reactions to events from the events themselves. She has hysterical overreactions to what most would consider annoyances. She cuts family ties over people who e-mail her links to websites that express political views that differ from hers, cries “rape” because she was hurt after allowing herself to be badgered into having sex when she could very easily, and quite literally, walked away from the situation. and accuses people of denying the reality of other people’s experience when all they did was ask for a few additional facts. She feels that any emotional response should be validated and supported, whether or not that response has any root in objective reality. I feel sorry for her. She’s obviously had a shitty life, and it will continue to be shitty unless she can learn that her emotional responses are not always appropriate and therefore worthy of validation. She needs help, but what she wants is a pity party. ---

But _normally_ posters that fly off like that (I admit I’ve posted some ridiculous shit in my 4 years here) do at least one of a few different things afterwards: They either apologize, stop posting for awhile to “cool off”, or drastically change their posting style. Zabali did none of this. When the heat got turned up in that thread she simply walked away from it and continued her exact same antics elsewhere. ---

OK, I can buy green jizz with a case of the clap, but something about the way that particular scene was written makes me a bit suspicous. Like the fact that she describes “strange hand gestures”, then, “years later I realized he was masturbating…” Sounds to me like it was years later that she remembered the green semen, not that it was something that she remembered from the time that she saw it. ---

I really didn’t start this thread to question **Zabali’s** veracity as I generally assume the Doper’s are a bright bunch, capable of observing posting patterns and drawing their own conclusions. Nope, all I’m asking of **Zabali** is that she cease and desist the annoying habit of setting herself up as The Miss Manners of the Straight Dope, especially when it’s obvious that, as **Cisco** said earlier, she was going after **Astro** for purely personal reasons in that thread. (Thanks for the links **tomndebb** ) Of course, it would be an added bonus if she actually thoroughly read the preceding posts before she elects to enlighten other posters with her infinite wisdom.
