Zany Zeolite Zipper, you are not well. Seek help. (With bonus Der Trihs pitting!)

'**Exactly! **

Death threats??? Really Der Trihs?

No, it’s pretty in character for him.

I simply do not believe this. Sorry.

I generally try, on this message board, to give credence to people’s accounts of their own personal experiences, and i know that some people say incredibly stupid shit, but i just don’t believe that you have heard anyone make this argument.

Why on earth would he believe someone would give him death threats implied or otherwise?

Not just death threats. IMPLIED death threats. You know, like mopping the floor with someone’s ass or butthurt knife fights.

I think Der Trihs comes from the same Bizarro World planet as ZPG Zealot.

This is fairly distressing - I’ve always assumed that **Der Trihs’ **insanity was limited to his politics and views on religion, and other than that, he was a fairly normal guy. Regrettably, I stand corrected.

Dudes a ticking time bomb. You’re gonna see him on the news one of these days.

Ah, yeah. I’m kinda having a hard time with that myself. I’ve lived in the SF Bay Area for almost 30 years now and went to college here. I’d say I’ve met more than my fair share of self-identified feminists of just about every stripe, including some that were pretty far out on the militant wing and not shy about expressing their beliefs.

I can’t say I have ever heard any of them “gush over the virtue of falsely accusing innocent men.” Now mind you, if someone said they had once known such an individual nutball, I might believe it. There is every kind of crazy out there and I’m sure that one exists somewhere. But multiple women who gleefully express that view, let alone ones that are prepared to actually do it? Color me a wee bit skeptical.

Well, if he shakes her hand, he should probably get it on videotape.

It’s not only unreasonable but totally illegal, without consent. See the 4th amendment of the Constitution and applicable case law. Any half decent lawyer would spin the expectation of privacy precedents so far up his ass he’d need a roto-router to get them out in time to appear for his arraignment.

The 4th amendment is not what you’re looking for here. Constitutional amendments like this restrict the scope of government activity; they do not constitute a prohibition on setting up a camera in your bedroom.

Plenty of states do have laws against making audio or video recordings without the consent of all parties, but these are laws quite separate from the 4th amendment.

Agreed, but “legal” does not equal “ethical”, as I think we can all agree. And videotaping your sex partners without their consent is, at a minimum, unethical.

ETA that my daughter just said “‘morally bankrupt’ is the term that comes to mind”. I’m inclined to agree with her.

I’d also like to add that while bashing Der Trihs is fun for the whole family and all, we should not forget Zipperhead. His feelings might get hurt.

So you just keyed on the 4th part and dismiss the legal issue out of hand? Ahem, why don’t you try reprocessing that throuh the expectation of privacy channel and get back to me.

I don’t need to get back to you.

One night stands are not for everyone. Besides, you never know if the person you went home with is recording it.

Call me old fashioned, but I use a portable EMP device to disable any potential recording devices in the home of my beloved.

And no, I don’t ask for consent to activate the EMP. I figure if the woman did not want me bringing in an EMP, she would simply have installed a hidden metal detector at the front door.

Huh. I thought that EMP was for detecting ghosts!

Too much Supernatural, I guess.

For the record, I would totally record my sex with Jensen Ackles or Misha Collins, but I’d ask first and it would be strictly for my own personal enjoyment.

I noticed this quote in the linked thread:

Is this actually something that anyone really does? Who are these people who are so terrified of everyone they associate with?
