# Zelenskyy; Russia plans to attack NATO in 2026

Since 2022, Russia’s military has been greatly degraded by Ukraine. So they cannot attack NATO now. To attack NATO, Russia needs to first conquer Ukraine in order to obtain its [substantial arms industry](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_industry_of_Ukraine) and military prowess.

Some here might be thinking that conquered countries do not have much of a military left. But Putin considers Ukraine and Russia to be, in their natural state, as one, and so will not accept that.
