Zeppelins vs. Pterodactyls sounds almost as good as [Tyrannosaurs in F-14s!](http://www.slate.com/id/2129373/slideshow/2129415/fs/0//entry/2129405/)

During the production of _King Kong_ (the 2005 version), Peter Jackson provided fan site [KongIsKing.net](http://KongIsKing.net) with production updates from the set in New Zealand. On April Fools’ Day, he claimed he was doing two back-to-back sequels, _King Kong: Son of Kong_ and _King Kong: Into the Wolf’s Lair_, which would be about the discovery of Kong’s son (similar to the 1933 follow-up _Son of Kong_) and his fighting Nazis during World War II. One of the supposed promotional pictures depicted humans riding Son Of Kong with machine guns attached to his back. Now that would be a fun film.

The guy who was going to do **Zeppelin vs. Pterodactyles** switched to a more ambitious film , **The Primevals** , which was partly filmed (and a teaser short made) _ages_ ago. He died, and there was talk of finishing the work, but it hasn’t happened yet. The film popped up in the “Unreleased films” thread a couple of weeks ago:

> Completed films that were shelved and to date have not been officially released. This is distinct from films in Category:Unfinished films, which is for films that never completed principal photography, and Category:Upcoming films, which is for films currently awaiting release.

> The Primevals is a science fiction fantasy adventure film from Full Moon Entertainment, co-written and directed by David Allen, and starring Juliet Mills. The film was a passion project for stop motion animator Allen and completed posthumously after over 50 years in development.

Here’s a clip from it. In today’s CGI world, uit looks pretty primitive:
